Excited to announce the arrival of our latest Redstone Barrel Society Whiskey! This time we teamed up with Virginia Distillery to bring you Another rare and unique offering.

Last Month we released our Coffee cask finished highland malt whiskey. This time we took the same whiskey and instead finished it in a french red wine barrel. Same whiskey completely different flavor profile.

Their Virginia-Highland Whisky (which is made from 100% malted barley, marrying whisky from Scotland with whisky made on-site in Virginia) was then finished in French red wine casks! The result is fantastic but still real distinct from the last cask we had finished from them, This scotch style whiskey has a nuanced character with notes of dark fruits, raisins, plums and slight strawberry. Bottles are $59.99/750ml and available at both Redstone Liquors Locations as well at at our friends at framingham liquors and Nobscot wine & spirits!

Cheers

Super excited to announce the arrival of our whistle pig Rye whiskey single barrel bottled exclusively for Redstone barrel society we had the daunting task of tasting multiple barrels at the farm (tough job we know) and found this gem…aged almost a full 13 years (even though bottles say it’s a 10 year) proofed at 113.9 this barrel exudes notes similar to that of a Old Fashioned…citrusy orange rind and cherries compliment a weighty body that leaves a lingering sweet finish with minimal heat. One of the best and unique single barrel rye whiskies that we have had the pleasure of selecting

This barrel yield was limited to only 132 750ml bottles so get your before they sell out. $77.99/ 750ml and available at both Redstone Locations, framingham liquors & nobscot wine and spirits.

Gilberto bio:

Gilberto Brinceño is one of the Master Blenders (Maestro Ronero) of Rum Diplomático. He has spent the last 30 years working in the spirits industry. Gilberto is extremely passionate about his work and enjoys sharing his knowledge with his colleagues. He takes great pride in his work at Diplomático and the ability to explain every step of the process to create an award-winning rum. A native of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Gilberto studied at Universidad Politécnica Antonio Jose de Sucre and graduated as a Chemical Engineer in 1985. Soon after he graduated, Gilberto began working at Licorerías Unidas S.A. (LUSA), now known as Destilerías Unidas S.A (DUSA), the parent company for Rum Diplomático. When Gilberto joined LUSA, Seagram’s International owned the company and it was one of the largest distributors of alcohol in the world. Gilberto held several positions at LUSA, including Packaging Material Manager where he was responsible for all packaging specifications and new product development. He was then promoted to Quality Assurance & Safety Manager, taking care of managing the quality labs (chemical, packaging and sensorial), as well as the safety and security systems.
In 1997, Gilberto moved to Montreal to work at the Seagram’s Montreal Technical Center, as Regional Manager for Quality Assurance. In 2000, Seagram’s was sold and Gilberto joined Pernod Ricard and transferred to Brazil in 2001 to work as the Quality, Safety and Environmental Director for all of Pernod Ricard America’s affiliates. Gilberto’s role there was to assure the quality and consistency of all products in the region, as well as to be a facilitator in sensorial analysis techniques and provide technical support. The role included traveling around the world to visit the operations facilities and provide support and training.
During his time working for Seagram’s and Pernod Ricard, Gilberto kept a strong link to LUSA, which became Destilerías Unidas S.A (DUSA) in 2002. DUSA’s management maintained a direct relationship with Gilberto and the companies he represented over the years.
In 2007, Gilberto moved back to Venezuela and began working for Pernod Ricard Venezuela in Caracas, as Senior Manager of Quality Assurance. He continued working with DUSA as a planner and quality auditor for the Pernod Ricard products, as DUSA was a co-packer of Pernod Ricard in Venezuela. In 2014, Gilberto came full circle and began working as a Quality Assurance Manager at DUSA. Shortly thereafter he was promoted to Master Blender of Rum Diplomático. Gilberto is very proud to hold this position, which represents a natural evolution in his career.
In his free time, Gilberto enjoys listening to music, reading and walking in the evenings. He also enjoys traveling around the world to understand other cultures. Gilberto is married with two sons.

Redstone Exclusive: Mystic Day of Doom Quad aged in our Masterson’s Rye Whiskey Barrel (sold out) https://dev.redstoneliquors.com/redstone-exclusive-mystic-day-of-doom-quad-aged-in-our-mastersons-rye-whiskey-barrel-sold-out/ Tue, 18 Mar 2014 14:52:41 +0000 http://www.redstoneliquors.com/?p=6062 mystic

We are once again happy to announce another Redstone exclusive for our valued customers. This time around we worked with Chelsea’s own Mystic Brewery. They were able to age their Day of Doom Quad for us in our hand selected Masterson’s Rye whiskey barrel for 6 months then bottle it off in 375ml bottles for us to spread the wealth. The barrel yielded only 144 bottles so these will be in very short supply. Read More

Day of Doom is a 12% Belgian Quad with rich malts as well as notes of dark fruits and dark sugars. This Quad is most definitely a big beer with big complex personality to match.

Masterson’s Rye is the highest rated Rye whiskey via whiskey bible at 96.5 points. It was also given high praise in whiskey advocate last year at a 90 point rating. When given the opportunity to hand select a single barrel version of this Rye last year we jumped all over it. Masterson’s has become one of our house favorites for sure.

The marriage of Day of Doom in our Masterson’s Rye Whiskey barrel will be sure to not only excite the palate but to also compliment it with hints of vanilla and spice from the oak and rye to match the dark fruits and rich malts. Don’t miss your chance to get one of these 156 bottles.

Release info:

When: Thursday afternoon March 20th @4pm

Where: Redstone Liquors 109 Main St Stoneham MA 02180

Limits: 2 bottles per customer
