We are proud to announce the arrival of our Redstone Barrel Society exclusive bottling of Joseph Magnus Straight Bourbon. This Particular barrel was aged for 13 years and 3 months and was originally distilled in Indiana (uhum MGP). Unlike some Magnus selections we chose to keep this barrel unfinished to maintain its Awesomeness.

This selection of Joseph Magnus Bourbon rings in at a modest 106 proof. It boasts strong aromas of vanilla and sweet caramel. Upon first sip cherries and other ripe stone fruit shine through, layers of sweet caramel along with lightly dusted cocoa and dark chocolate creep up on the finish. Slight chocolatey tannins leave you yearning the next sip. (Cadbury fruit and nut in liquid form)

Each bottle has our “Magnus Cum Laude” sticker afixed to the back letting you know your palate has earned high honors. In addition bottles are waxed dipped in silver, gold as well as a few select bottles with both.

Bottles go on sale Wednesday October 9th 2019, 12pm at our Redstone Liquors Stoneham location for $105/750ml. Anyone who purchases a silver waxed dipped bottle is eligible to purchase another bottle with gold wax. The first 15 people who purchase both the silver and gold waxed bottles are then eligible to purchase the Gold & Silver waxed bottle to complete their set.

We are excited to announce the arrival of our Knob Creek Single barrel RYE Whiskey! This is only one of a handful of barrels to hit the state of MA ever!

New to Knob Creek this Single barrel program lets us hand select special barrels, we then taste at cask strength as well as proof them down to 115 proof. The particular barrel that we have selected was 128.8 proof out of the gate, it started and finished off HOT!

Proofing this down to 115 opened up the aromatics displaying sweet cherry and toffee notes it also dissipated the heat leaving us with a Rye Whiskey that still has a chewy and vicious mouthfeel with soft rye spice in the front, sweet and delicate cherry and dark chocolate notes creep up in the back palate and linger throughout the finish making you crave that next sip.

The barrel yield was limited to only 180 bottles so stock up and enjoy while supplies last!

Their Virginia-Highland Whisky (which is made from 100% malted barley, marrying whisky from Scotland with whisky made on-site in Virginia) was then finished in COFFEE soaked casks! The result is magic, This scotch style whiskey has a nuanced character with notes of warm vanilla, cocoa and or course coffee. If their was ever a true breakfast whiskey this is it. We are happy to announce the arrival of our single barrel of Patron Añejo Tequila. Earlier this year we flew out to the Patron facility in Jalisco Mexico to not only see how their handcrafted tequila is made but to also sample a variety of different single barrels.

At Patron they preach consistency and obtain that by blending different barrels by hand to make sure the tequila that you are enjoying is the same experience time and time again. What we aimed to do is give you the exact opposite. While still maintaining the high quality that is Patron’s signature, we were able to select a barrel that we felt was different from their everyday offering. This Añejo was aged in French and American oak for a long 31 months (almost extra Anejo territory 36mo) and is limited to 180 bottles.

This barrel boasts notes of Vanilla, Citrus, Golden Raisin and baking spices. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and virtually no heat in the finish but instead a pleasant candied sweet vanilla coating left on your lips awaiting the next sip. Versatile enough to mix but recommended neat or with a cube. Decant for 10-15 minutes to accentuate the sweeter notes. Cube will constrict the sweet and bring forward more the baking spice notes.

We are proud to host Brent Elliott, Master Distiller for Four Roses Bourbon. He will be pouring samples signing bottles and talking bourbon from 12-2pm Saturday February 24th at our Stoneham location.

A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brent became Master Distiller at Four Roses Bourbon in September 2015 and he is uniquely qualified for this role… after all, he’s been helping Four Roses select exquisite barrels of Bourbon at their peak of maturation for the past ten years, working closely with former Master Distiller, Jim Rutledge.

As the Distillery’s Director of Quality, Brent’s decade of experience with Four Roses includes everything from applying his Chemistry degree to evaluate Bourbons in the tasting lab, to taking part in the selection of barrels for special Single Barrel bottlings and Limited Edition products. Brent applies his on-the-job experience to his role of Master Distiller, ensuring that each Four Roses product has the fruity, smooth and mellow character, along with a hint of spice, that the brand has become known for around the world.

Every stage of the distillation process is critical and you’ll find Brent’s heart and soul in every one of them.

We are super excited to introduce the arrival of our own Bespoke Makers Mark 46 Private Select Single barrel. When we say bespoke we truly do mean custom made for you from us.

For those familiar with Makers 46 know that Makers Mark ages their bourbon over seasoned oak staves to impart a bolder more refined expression of Makers Mark. This barrel program took things a bit further as we got to choose a combination of unique staves (10 in total) to age our Cask Strength Makers Mark in.

Our particular recipe was the only one of its kind chosen in the country. We went with 3 Seared Cuvèe staves to impart a bold body and mouthfeel (think maple syrup and caramel), 2 toasted french spice staves to give hints of cherry and spice in the mid palate and rounded it off with 5 Roasted French Mocha staves to give a long dusted mocha finish. The final product is proofed at 110.8

We not only hand fed these staves into the barrel, we also hand filled the barrel, hammered in the bung and even hand signed each bottle to really place our stamp on this custom bottling. We hope that you enjoy this as much as we did. (see Video below)

This barrel is truly limited in nature and one of the first to hit Massachusetts. It will retail at $69.99/750ml and will be available at the following Redstone Barrel Society locations across Massachusetts this week.
