The Redstone Barrel society barrel (# P05-T021) is listed with a 13 year age statement in which it was aged in ex-bourbon (some of which was previously filled with sherry) then transferred into Toasted oak barrel (Woodford reserve double oaked) for another year calling it their toasted oak finish. Bottled uncut and unfiltered (The only filtering this barrel went through was to remove any oak) and no artificial colors are added.

This offering is bottled at 63.9% Abv or 127.8 proof.

Tasting notes (Neat): Nose of Brown sugar, banana, caramel and cherry jam, Robust mouthfeel with flavors of brown sugar, whipped cream, banana and tons of caramel..Think of a Bananas foster dessert topped with a luxardo cherry. The finish lingers with soft whipped cream, stewed stone fruit and more brown sugar making you long for that next sip. The more this Rum breathes the more of that tropical flavor open up. Drink neat, with a big cube, a splash of water or in your favorite tiki cocktail for a different experience in each glass.

Bouquet of fresh peppers up front… Round luscious mouth feel showcasing crisp green apples, and fresh, juicy jalapeño (minus the heat) drenched with citrus fruit. Slight Mexican spice initially on the back end that quickly dissipates and turns into a finale of fresh tamarind, vanilla and lime (think Tamarindo candy…if you haven’t had a Tamarindo amazon some immediately, your welcome)…

At 105 proof this single barrel is most definitely a dangerously smooth criminal. This 100% pure agave tequila has No Additives, it’s been aged for a year and 19 days in ex-bourbon casks that have been refilled a handful of times with tequila…each bottle is hand numbered, dipped in lime green wax and we are proud to have it adorne the Redstone barrel society logo as this is truly a one of a kind single barrel bottling that you will want to get your hands on. Barrel No. 5

Nose of sweet agave and cinnamon lead way to a Velvety mouthfeel that has notes of vanilla, oatmeal, raisins and baking spices. Finishes warm but not hot leaving notes of vanilla on your mid palate for days! Mrs. Fields take notice because if Tequila were to ever come in a cookie form it would taste like this!

Barrel No. 5 also is no slouch it rings in at 105 proof but drinks more like it’s 80. Sister barrel to No. 8 it has also be aging for a year and 19 days in ex-bourbon and tequila barrels. Each bottle is hand numbered, dipped in Gold wax (because it’s that fancy) and adorns the Depot Liquors logo as this is truly a one of its kind single barrel bottling. This barrel is MGP Rye, aged 8 years and 3 months, yielded only 180 bottles and rings in at a modest 119.26 proof. Notes of caramel, cocoa and almonds on the nose. Mouthfeel is weighty with notes of candied orange, cherries, dusted cocoa and a hint of cinnamon. Finish is long and leaves you with that Nestle quick cocoa powder you had as a kid along with stone fruits with the slightest tannins. Neat its reminiscent of an old fashioned, few drops of water open up the nose to more caramel and palate to bigger and brighter cherry notes that finish with a fresh orange rind then back to more cherry.

This is one of the best rye barrels that we have ever selected, seriously!

We are excited to announce the arrival of our Redstone Barrel Society Kavalan Sherry cask. This whiskey aged exclusively in Oloroso Sherry casks for a 7 years and 6 months (off of bottle codes). However with the climate what it is in Taiwan the spirits extract the flavor from the oak at a faster rate meaning their whiskies impart an older taste that the actual age should suggest.

No artificial colors or flavorings are added to this barrel, that being said it pours a very dark ruby color reminiscent of say a cherry cola. At 114.2 proof its no slouch and boasts a robust and rich mouthfeel any heat from alcohol is masked with the sweet taste of of stewed dark raisin, dusted dark chocolate and stone fruits like plum and cherry. Making this a dangerously smooth pour. A splash of water takes it a step further and accentuates the raisin and prune without sacrificing the weighty body. The finish is long and savory keeping you salivating for your next sip.

We are excited to announce the arrival of our hand selected single barrel of Four Roses bourbon! This barrel happens to also be one of our favorite recipes, OESV. The OESV recipe mingles four roses high corn (75%) mash bill with the “V” yeast strain which according to four roses is known to produce a delicate fruit profile.

This barrel in particular exudes tons of vanilla and slight toasted caramel reminiscent of a rich crème brûlée. Let it breath for a moment and revisit to find notes of dark cherry lingering on the long finish. Mouthfeel for days and rings in at a modest 112.4 proof with very minimal heat. Should also note this barrel was also bottled a couple of weeks shy of its 10th birthday and came from warehouse LE which is especially known for its spectacular liquid.

This selection will also be the first barrel of our Gauntlet series. Select Redstone barrel society barrels this year will be part of this series. Each bottle will come with a unique color “Infinity Redstone” wax seal on the side along with a sticker identifying the unique stone on our RL gauntlet.

We are super excited to introduce the arrival of our own Bespoke Makers Mark 46 Private Select Single barrel. When we say bespoke we truly do mean custom made for you from us.

For those familiar with Makers 46 know that Makers Mark ages their bourbon over seasoned oak staves to impart a bolder more refined expression of Makers Mark. This barrel program took things a bit further as we got to choose a combination of unique staves (10 in total) to age our Cask Strength Makers Mark in.

Our particular recipe was the only one of its kind chosen in the country. We went with 3 Seared Cuvèe staves to impart a bold body and mouthfeel (think maple syrup and caramel), 2 toasted french spice staves to give hints of cherry and spice in the mid palate and rounded it off with 5 Roasted French Mocha staves to give a long dusted mocha finish. The final product is proofed at 110.8

We not only hand fed these staves into the barrel, we also hand filled the barrel, hammered in the bung and even hand signed each bottle to really place our stamp on this custom bottling. We hope that you enjoy this as much as we did. (see Video below)
