Super excited to launch our latest version of Makers Private Select. We absolutely love being involved in the project with Makers Mark and make it a point to go out of our way to make each batch drastically different from the next to showcase the versatility of this program and how much of an impact these staves have on the flavor of the Bourbon.

For those unfamiliar with how this process works, we fly out to the distillery and lock ourselves in a room filled with Bourbon (tough job right?). We sample Makers mark at cask strength along 5 other versions of the same bourbon each individually finished with different type of oak stave. We then blend these bourbons together to come up with a recipe, do some quick match to see how many of each oak stave will result in this flavor. We literally drop these staves in a barrel, fill said barrel, stamp it with our name and roll it into a finishing warehouse for 9 weeks for it to transform into what we will be releasing this Sat Nov 9th at 1pm. (See video below)

This year we went super heavy on Mocha staves (8 roasted french mocha, 1 seared french cuvée and 1 toasted french spice) this year resulting in a bourbon that is a chocolate lovers dream. Liquid chocolate is what comes to mind with slight stone fruits and baking spices in the lingering finish. Taste delicious neat and bold enough to stand out in your favorite cocktail.

This will also be the third installment in our Infinity Redstone series dawning a green stone. (Collect all of the stones in the series for bonus tickets in our Annual whiskey draft raffle later this year.)

For those not familiar with our whiskey week it starts on Black Friday and ends the Friday after. That week any bottle of whiskey you purchase gets you 1 raffle ticket any one of our Redstone single barrels get you 2 tickets (As a bonus on Black friday you will get 2 for each btl of whiskey and 3 tickets for one of our barrels)

These tickets are drawn to determine our draft order. Number of spots depend on the number of allocated bottles that we will have available for sale. If multiple tickets get drawn it moves you up in the draft (ie. your name pulled 5 times and someone else 2 times you move ahead of that person in the draft. )

So excited to announce the arrival of our Elijah Craig Single barrel bourbon. This particular barrel was rested for 8 years in Rickhouse EE on the 6th floor. (one of our favorite warehouses so no surprise it outshined the other 9 and 10 year old barrels that we put against it) It rang in at a monster 133 proof out of the cask before being proofed down to 94 at bottling.

Of all the Elijah Craig barrels we had tasted on this trip this one was a clear cut winner. Boasting a heavy dose of nutty caramel on the nose, a mouthful of cherries on the palate and a slightly sweet dusting of baking spice and stone fruits on the long long finish, this is the perfect accompaniment to a crisp fall night or a decadent treat after dinner.

Excited to announce the arrival of our Redstone Barrel Society Single barrel pick of Blanton’s Bourbon. This Bourbon was barreled was November 20th of this year at 93 proof. This barrel brimms of freshly cut crisp green apples and caramel from the nose all the way through the finish, Weighty mouthfeel and silky finish making you eagar for that next sip.  

Due the recent popularity of Blanton’s we have to limit these to 3 bottles per customer though the week to help spread around the love. This barrel yield was only 246 bottles. Available now at Redstone Liquors locations in both Stoneham & Andover and will update when our other barrel society stores get their shipments.

We are excited to have Wes Henderson, Co-Founder of Angel’s Envy host a Classroom event at our tasting room in Stoneham.

Learn how the brand was created, the story behind it and hear about the distillery. Angel’s Envy Straight Bourbon, Angel’s Envy Rye Whiskey as well as Angel’s envy cocktails will be sampled along side light bites.

Wes will be signing bottles purchased in store that day. In addition 5 bottles of this years Angel’s Envy Cask Strength will be available for sale to those who attend the event. (drawing style should more than 5 people wish to purchase this rare bottle)

Last Month we released our Coffee cask finished highland malt whiskey. This time we took the same whiskey and instead finished it in a french red wine barrel. Same whiskey completely different flavor profile.

Their Virginia-Highland Whisky (which is made from 100% malted barley, marrying whisky from Scotland with whisky made on-site in Virginia) was then finished in French red wine casks! The result is fantastic but still real distinct from the last cask we had finished from them, This scotch style whiskey has a nuanced character with notes of dark fruits, raisins, plums and slight strawberry. Super excited to announce the arrival of our whistle pig Rye whiskey single barrel bottled exclusively for Redstone barrel society we had the daunting task of tasting multiple barrels at the farm (tough job we know) and found this gem…aged almost a full 13 years (even though bottles say it’s a 10 year) proofed at 113.9 this barrel exudes notes similar to that of a Old Fashioned…citrusy orange rind and cherries compliment a weighty body that leaves a lingering sweet finish with minimal heat. One of the best and unique single barrel rye whiskies that we have had the pleasure of selecting

We are excited to announce the arrival of our Knob Creek Single barrel RYE Whiskey! This is only one of a handful of barrels to hit the state of MA ever!

New to Knob Creek this Single barrel program lets us hand select special barrels, we then taste at cask strength as well as proof them down to 115 proof. The particular barrel that we have selected was 128.8 proof out of the gate, it started and finished off HOT!

Proofing this down to 115 opened up the aromatics displaying sweet cherry and toffee notes it also dissipated the heat leaving us with a Rye Whiskey that still has a chewy and vicious mouthfeel with soft rye spice in the front, sweet and delicate cherry and dark chocolate notes creep up in the back palate and linger throughout the finish making you crave that next sip.

The barrel yield was limited to only 180 bottles so stock up and enjoy while supplies last!

The result is magic, This scotch style whiskey has a nuanced character with notes of warm vanilla, cocoa and or course coffee. If their was ever a true breakfast whiskey this is it. We are happy to announce the arrival of our single barrel of Patron Añejo Tequila. Earlier this year we flew out to the Patron facility in Jalisco Mexico to not only see how their handcrafted tequila is made but to also sample a variety of different single barrels.

At Patron they preach consistency and obtain that by blending different barrels by hand to make sure the tequila that you are enjoying is the same experience time and time again. What we aimed to do is give you the exact opposite. While still maintaining the high quality that is Patron’s signature, we were able to select a barrel that we felt was different from their everyday offering. This Añejo was aged in French and American oak for a long 31 months (almost extra Anejo territory 36mo) and is limited to 180 bottles.

This barrel boasts notes of Vanilla, Citrus, Golden Raisin and baking spices. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and virtually no heat in the finish but instead a pleasant candied sweet vanilla coating left on your lips awaiting the next sip. Versatile enough to mix but recommended neat or with a cube. Decant for 10-15 minutes to accentuate the sweeter notes. Cube will constrict the sweet and bring forward more the baking spice notes.
