Redstone Exclusive: Bourbon Barrel Aged Idle hands 34 porter with Taza Chocolate!

We teamed up with Idle hands brewing of Malden to bring you a barrel aged chocolate version of their 34 Robust Porter. They took two of our hand selected barrels of four roses Bourbon (OBSQ and OESQ) aged 34 porter in them and added Taza chocolate nibs! The result is a smooth and creamy porter with loads of dark chocolate and notes of bourbon in the finish. At 7% ABV this Robust porter will leave you wanting more.

Only a limited amount of these 750ML bottles will be available at Both Redstone Stoneham and Andover locations as well as the brewery Starting at 9am on Black Friday!

We are happy to announce the release of our latest Redstone Exclusive beer! Mystic Brewing last and Final judgement.

Mystic brewing took our hand selected 4 roses and buffalo trace bourbon barrels and aged their award winning belgian quadrupel (Day of doom) in them for over a full year. The result is an amazing 11% belgian quad that boasts flavors of raisin, plum & dates and marries them with vanilla, and toasted coconut on the finish. The lighter carbonation of this release makes for a silky body with a creamy mouthfeel that is great on its own but will pair wonderfully with your favorite dessert.

We are happy to offer our customers a chance to sit in on a special classroom private tasting event with the folks from Massachusetts own Privateer Rum.

Experience: A representative from the distillery will host, tasting both the Silver reserve and American rums along with showing folks how to use these in a variety of simple to make cocktails. (Attendees will also have first crack at a small amount of their allocated single barrel navy yard American Rum)

Date & Time: Thursday April 7th from 6-7pm

Location: Classroom at Stoneham location

Cost: Free (but seats are limited so you must register by calling the store to attend)

We are proud to announce that we will be one of 4 stores in Massachusetts that will be hosting the official Goose Island sponsored Bourbon County stout release!

Line will start at 6AM on Black Friday (November 27th) and doors will open at 8am. Coffee and doughnuts will be available to those lined up.
BCBS: Bourbon county will be available first come first served to those lined with a 2 bottle limit per person. (there will be no holds, no exceptions)

Variants: Massachusetts will be getting Coffee and Regal variants of BCBS this year and like years past they will be in short supply. The folks at Goose Island will determine which customers get to buy the variants by playing games and trivia with folks who come early and line up before 8am.
This years Bourbon county brand stout will be only available in 500ML bottles (no 4 packs or 22s were sent to MA). Since the package change there is also a lot less that will be available in the MA market than in years past so do not miss out on your chance to score some while having some fun with other folks just as excited to get their hands on some.

Bonus: Goose will be hosting 20 people in our classroom at 9:30AM (the first event in our brand new classroom). A representative from Goose Island will be showing the “Grit to Grain” videos that showcase the labor of love that goes into making BCBS as well as tasting folks on last years vintage of BCSB and a line up of some of their vintage sours. (Tickets for this classroom event/tasting will be limited to the first 20 people and will be available on a first come first served basis starting tomorrow (Monday Nov 23rd) in person or via phone (781-438-9265) at our Stoneham store only. Tickets for this even are $20. So be sure to call or come by early to reserve your seat.

Another Bonus: We will be starting our annual whiskey draft raffle Black Friday and will be giving 2 tickets for every bottle of 750ml whiskey purchased and 3 tickets for any one of our “Redstone exclusive” barrel picks (still 750ml btls only)…This will be THE only day that 2 and 3 tickets per bottle will be given before it reverts back to the 1 and 2 ticket system that we have implemented in years past. More details on this whiskey raffle will be posted in another post.

Another Bonus: We will have another “hard to get” offering on draft at our tasting bar available to taste(2 0Z. sample) for those that get there before 10am (while supplies last) – will announce what later that day.

Day of Doom is a 12% Belgian Quad with rich malts as well as notes of dark fruits and dark sugars. This Quad is most definitely a big beer with big complex personality to match.

Masterson’s Rye is the highest rated Rye whiskey via whiskey bible at 96.5 points. It was also given high praise in whiskey advocate last year at a 90 point rating. When given the opportunity to hand select a single barrel version of this Rye last year we jumped all over it. Masterson’s has become one of our house favorites for sure.
