For those that are new to the Redstone whiskey week here is a rundown of how we allocate out some of our rarest releases. Once a year many of the best-known distilleries around the US release their flagships, not to mention some of the highest rated whiskies start hitting the shelves. The only issue is there is never enough of these releases to go around. Our solution is the Whiskey Draft raffle. (Again this raffle is for a chance to Purchase some of these rare bottles at MSRP)

With the success and the fun of past years drafts we have once again decided this to be the best and most fair way of rewarding our customers with a strong chance of scoring some of this rare whiskey (at MSRP) (This will be our 8th year running this program)

Redstone whiskey week (part 1) will start on Wednesday (July 28th) and will run though Sunday (August 1st)

Rules: For every bottle of 750ml whiskey purchased at Redstone Liquors (Andover or Stoneham) during Redstone whiskey week you will receive one raffle ticket (all same raffle)…

For every bottle of 750s from one of our Redstone Exclusive single barrel picks you will get 2 raffle tickets: (while supplies last) NOTE: TICKETS FOR ONLINE SALES WILL BE GIVEN ON DAY THAT ITEMS ARE PICKED UP NOT PURCHASED…ie. black friday rules only apply to bottles picked up on wed not just purchased on wed…Also if items are not picked up by Sunday Aug 1st tickets will not be given to those purchases)

BONUS: Any bottles purchased on Wednesday July 28th will get 2 tickets per 750ml and 4 tickets for a Redstone barrel pick!(Black Friday rules)

Also as a way to say thank you to all the folks that have supported us during the pandemic online and those that are in our loyalty program (see below) we have a formula for certain amount of tickets to be entered off of your past purchases so that you do not miss out if you can not participate this week)

On Wednsday August 4th we will draw from the stack of raffle tickets collected to create a Draft order. First overall pick gets their pick of which whiskey they wish to purchase from the pool. Second pick get to chose from the pool of whats left and so on…
The more tickets you have in, the better your chance to get a spot… But note you can only win once.

If we draw your name multiple times you will get moved up in the list. (the folks with the most tickets drawn will move up in the draft based on number of time we pull their ticket). For those that only get picked once your spot on the list depends on the order it was picked.

When called you must make your pick while on the phone with us so that we can contact the next in line with what is avail to them.

In an effort of keeping this moving. If messages are not returned in 10min! we WILL move on to next person and you will get bumped until you call us back so please have your phone on you that day and keep this in mind when participating in whiskey week. The reason for having such a short call back window is because due to the large number of winners, Prior years lists have taken way to long to contact everyone (talking weeks here, and to be honest (ain’t nobody got time for that). If no call back in the same day we will take name off list and draw another. As a courtesy to those who have not been selected and are not waiting by the phone we will post a list of the winners first initial and first 4 letters of last name Tuesday night on this page so that winners know to expect a call. All phone calls about “am i on the list” will be directed to this website to see if their name is on the list to keep our phone lines free for us to make these calls.

Full quantities of certain bottles will not be posted online (so that our distributors do not get the wrath of other stores) so swing on though and get your tickets today.

On to the tasting notes: We do hope you enjoy milky way bars because this barrel exudes all of the flavors of one. Caramel dominates the nose while big flavors of Dusted cocoa, caramel, whipped vanilla and nougat take over the mid palate. Soft but lingering finish of slight baking spice and more dusted cocoa make that next sip not come fast enough.

The Redstone Barrel society barrel (# P05-T021) is listed with a 13 year age statement in which it was aged in ex-bourbon (some of which was previously filled with sherry) then transferred into Toasted oak barrel (Woodford reserve double oaked) for another year calling it their toasted oak finish. Bottled uncut and unfiltered (The only filtering this barrel went through was to remove any oak) and no artificial colors are added.

This offering is bottled at 63.9% Abv or 127.8 proof.

Tasting notes (Neat): Nose of Brown sugar, banana, caramel and cherry jam, Robust mouthfeel with flavors of brown sugar, whipped cream, banana and tons of caramel..Think of a Bananas foster dessert topped with a luxardo cherry. The finish lingers with soft whipped cream, stewed stone fruit and more brown sugar making you long for that next sip. The more this Rum breathes the more of that tropical flavor open up. Drink neat, with a big cube, a splash of water or in your favorite tiki cocktail for a different experience in each glass.

Barrel No. 8

Bouquet of fresh peppers up front… Round luscious mouth feel showcasing crisp green apples, and fresh, juicy jalapeño (minus the heat) drenched with citrus fruit. Slight Mexican spice initially on the back end that quickly dissipates and turns into a finale of fresh tamarind, vanilla and lime (think Tamarindo candy…if you haven’t had a Tamarindo amazon some immediately, your welcome)…

At 105 proof this single barrel is most definitely a dangerously smooth criminal. This 100% pure agave tequila has No Additives, it’s been aged for a year and 19 days in ex-bourbon casks that have been refilled a handful of times with tequila…each bottle is hand numbered, dipped in lime green wax and we are proud to have it adorne the Redstone barrel society logo as this is truly a one of a kind single barrel bottling that you will want to get your hands on. This barrel along with barrel #5 was selected in conjunction with our friends at Depot Liquors and are the ONLY 2 Tequila Ocho single barrels available for retail in the United States!

Barrel No. 5

Nose of sweet agave and cinnamon lead way to a Velvety mouthfeel that has notes of vanilla, oatmeal, raisins and baking spices. Finishes warm but not hot leaving notes of vanilla on your mid palate for days! Mrs. Fields take notice because if Tequila were to ever come in a cookie form it would taste like this!

Barrel No. 5 also is no slouch it rings in at 105 proof but drinks more like it’s 80. Sister barrel to No. 8 it has also be aging for a year and 19 days in ex-bourbon and tequila barrels. Each bottle is hand numbered, dipped in Gold wax (because it’s that fancy) and adorns the Depot Liquors logo as this is truly a one of its kind single barrel bottling. This barrel along with barrel number 8 was selected in conjunction with our friends at Redstone Liquors and are the ONLY 2 Tequila Ocho single barrels available for retail in in the United States!

BONUS: The (CHAD) Ocho Cinco (blend of 50% barrel 8 and 50% barrel 5)

Both barrels are so good and unique from each other that we decided to have some fun with these and experiment with some micro batching that you can also do at your own home. This Particular blend was a simple 50/50 of both barrels. The result is the tangy citrus notes of barrel 8 with the vanilla and Velvety texture from barrel 5, think Lime Creamsicle and rainbows this blend Literally embodies sipping on summer. The possibilities are endless so don’t be afraid to try your own combination and let us know what you come up with!

On first impression a nose of warm buttered caramel hits your senses. Followed by a thicccc luscious mouthfeel with big notes of caramel and chocolate (think milky way bar )and finishes strong with dark cherries and baking spice in the finish. The finish lingers of toasted coconut, dark chocolate, baking spice and more cherry making you long for that next sip.

This barrel is MGP Rye, aged 8 years and 3 months, yielded only 180 bottles and rings in at a modest 119.26 proof. Notes of caramel, cocoa and almonds on the nose. Mouthfeel is weighty with notes of candied orange, cherries, dusted cocoa and a hint of cinnamon. Finish is long and leaves you with that Nestle quick cocoa powder you had as a kid along with stone fruits with the slightest tannins. Neat its reminiscent of an old fashioned, few drops of water open up the nose to more caramel and palate to bigger and brighter cherry notes that finish with a fresh orange rind then back to more cherry.

This is one of the best rye barrels that we have ever selected, seriously!

Bottles are dipped in Silver wax and finished with glitter because why not?

(this gold medallion was put on each bottle by Buffalo Trace at their distillery, not by Redstone) It has come to our attention that the actual specs for this barrel are different: Date filled is 10/02/13 Warehouse K floor 7 rick 25 bottled on 7/31/20 and is 6 years and 9 months old) Be that as it may the tasting notes on this single barrel whiskey are the same and the medallion does not change that)

Bottles of this release will be spread out to share the love. The initial 50 bottles are wax dipped gold and will ONLY be released in our Redstone barrel pick bundle. This Particular barrel was born at MGPs and aged for more than 5 years (almost 6) at Smooth Ambler. It clocks in at a modest 116.6 proof, each bottle also adorns the Redstone barrel society logo and is hand dipped in Green wax to signify just how money this barrel tastes.

Nose of sweet burnt caramel, sweet dried vanilla and stewed cherry. On first taste sweet bing cherries dominate the front palate and hit you like a macho man elbow from the top rope. More cherries on the finish with some baking spice to leave you with a cherry pie like finish good enough that warrant wrote a song about it. Minimal heat for 116 proof but still no slouch.

Excited to announce the arrival of our Redstone Barrel Society Eagle Rare single barrel Bourbon. Full disclosure this year due to factors out of our control we were not able to taste this particular barrel before authorizing its release. Instead we gave a known and trusted member of Buffalo trace barrel program whom we have tasted with before our tasting notes and requirements so that they could hunt down a barrel that fulfilled the criteria of being a Redstone barrel society pick. He did not disappoint.

Tasting notes: Sweet nose of vanilla and oak with some maple syrup with slight stone fruit. Initial sip bold mouthfeel that coats the glass, Mouth full of cherry and vanilla run up to the front (think Dr Pepper soda) leaving behind a dry finish of baking spice reminiscent of grandmas oatmeal raisin cookies.
