Nose of caramel and cherries dominate the front. On first sip sweet bing cherries hit you up front while a big dusting of vanilla bean, more cherries and a wallop of caramel linger around in the finish. Thick and vicious mouthfeel of caramel make you savor each sip and leave you wanting the next.

Specs we were given and on placed on the medallion of each bottle NCF, Aged in warehouse O floor 5 and barreled on 3/04/09

(this gold medallion was put on each bottle by Buffalo Trace at their distillery, not by Redstone) It has come to our attention that the actual specs for this barrel are different: Date filled is 10/02/13 Warehouse K floor 7 rick 25 bottled on 7/31/20 and is 6 years and 9 months old) Be that as it may the tasting notes on this single barrel whiskey are the same and the medallion does not change that)

Bottles of this release will be spread out to share the love. The initial 50 bottles are wax dipped gold and will ONLY be released in our Redstone barrel pick bundle. Bundle will go on sale Sunday November 22nd at 3:30pm on Redstoneliquors.com as well as the Redstone Liquors App ONLY. This Particular barrel was born at MGPs and aged for more than 5 years (almost 6) at Smooth Ambler. It clocks in at a modest 116.6 proof, each bottle also adorns the Redstone barrel society logo and is hand dipped in Green wax to signify just how money this barrel tastes.

Nose of sweet burnt caramel, sweet dried vanilla and stewed cherry. On first taste sweet bing cherries dominate the front palate and hit you like a macho man elbow from the top rope. More cherries on the finish with some baking spice to leave you with a cherry pie like finish good enough that warrant wrote a song about it. Minimal heat for 116 proof but still no slouch.

Excited to announce the arrival of our Redstone Barrel Society Eagle Rare single barrel Bourbon. Full disclosure this year due to factors out of our control we were not able to taste this particular barrel before authorizing its release. Instead we gave a known and trusted member of Buffalo trace barrel program whom we have tasted with before our tasting notes and requirements so that they could hunt down a barrel that fulfilled the criteria of being a Redstone barrel society pick. He did not disappoint.

Tasting notes: Sweet nose of vanilla and oak with some maple syrup with slight stone fruit. Initial sip bold mouthfeel that coats the glass, Mouth full of cherry and vanilla run up to the front (think Dr Pepper soda) leaving behind a dry finish of baking spice reminiscent of grandmas oatmeal raisin cookies.

We are happy to announce the arrival of our hand selected single barrel of Bulleit Bourbon. This barrel was bottled a few months shy of its 14th birthday but happy to report that its well of age.

We have had the good grace to be able to select many barrels over the years that being said this particular one has one of the best noses and body that we have tasted. Thick syrupy texture on the mouth feel that is lush with notes of butterscotch and caramel with bits of toffee stopping in to say hello. (Think those Worthers original candies your grandmother used to give you as a child). Notes of toffee and some stone fruit emerge in the ever lasting finish leaving you wanting to take another sip. Not much heat on the finish but at 104 proof it definitely gives the impression that its not messing around. The nose on this barrel is thick like fog, sweet and decadent taking over the room like walking into a 20 year old rick house that is next door to a caramel factory.

At 93.6 proof this blend is thick enough to stand up to a cube of ice or be enjoyed neat. Notes of caramel along side maple soaked chocolate, bing cherries and slight baking spice stand out in this crowd pleasing selection.

We are proud to host Brent Elliott, Master Distiller for Four Roses Bourbon. He will be pouring samples signing bottles and talking bourbon from 12-2pm Saturday February 24th at our Stoneham location.

A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brent became Master Distiller at Four Roses Bourbon in September 2015 and he is uniquely qualified for this role… after all, he’s been helping Four Roses select exquisite barrels of Bourbon at their peak of maturation for the past ten years, working closely with former Master Distiller, Jim Rutledge.

As the Distillery’s Director of Quality, Brent’s decade of experience with Four Roses includes everything from applying his Chemistry degree to evaluate Bourbons in the tasting lab, to taking part in the selection of barrels for special Single Barrel bottlings and Limited Edition products. Brent applies his on-the-job experience to his role of Master Distiller, ensuring that each Four Roses product has the fruity, smooth and mellow character, along with a hint of spice, that the brand has become known for around the world.

Every stage of the distillation process is critical and you’ll find Brent’s heart and soul in every one of them.

The second is our latest Four Roses hand selected single barrel,(OESV, 120.4proof) this barrel yielding only 30 bottles! (will be limits of 2 per on Weller and 1 per on the 4R)

Limited releases: We will have a number of number of allocated items on hand for some lucky folks to purchase. these releases will be done “cookie jar” style similar to what we did at our anniversary event earlier this year…Rules: a $5 donation (or more its all for a good cause) to shriners children’s hospital will get a pull from the cookie jar, this cookie jar will have raffle tickets for the following allocated items and folks will have a 50% chance to pull out a winning ticket. If you pull a winning ticket you have the option to purchase that particular bottle (at MSRP). (total 103 winners!)

We are proud to welcome the arrival of our latest Redstone Barrel Society Single barrel Bourbon. This Knob Creek single barrel was hand selected in Kentucky for you from us. It has been resting on the 4th floor, Rick 6, Tier 3 in warehouse W since November 14th of 2003 (Bottled at 13 years and 8 months!). Right from the barrel this Bourbon yields a high 134.3 proof, however before bottling these were proofed down to 120 proof to dissipate the heat but preserve the weighty mouthfeel.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Oak and spice accompanied by a harem of ripe cherries with slight hints of caramel and vanilla

Palate: Loads of dark chocolate, baking spice and stewed cherries all intermingle on the front palate. Reminiscent of a baked cherry pie dusted in thick layer of mocha.

Finish: Leaves you with a long woodsy fall spice and mouthful of cherries for days.

We are super excited to introduce the arrival of our own Bespoke Makers Mark 46 Private Select Single barrel. When we say bespoke we truly do mean custom made for you from us.

For those familiar with Makers 46 know that Makers Mark ages their bourbon over seasoned oak staves to impart a bolder more refined expression of Makers Mark. This barrel program took things a bit further as we got to choose a combination of unique staves (10 in total) to age our Cask Strength Makers Mark in.

Our particular recipe was the only one of its kind chosen in the country. We went with 3 Seared Cuvèe staves to impart a bold body and mouthfeel (think maple syrup and caramel), 2 toasted french spice staves to give hints of cherry and spice in the mid palate and rounded it off with 5 Roasted French Mocha staves to give a long dusted mocha finish. The final product is proofed at 110.8

We not only hand fed these staves into the barrel, we also hand filled the barrel, hammered in the bung and even hand signed each bottle to really place our stamp on this custom bottling. We hope that you enjoy this as much as we did. (see Video below)

This barrel is truly limited in nature and one of the first to hit Massachusetts. It will retail at $69.99/750ml and will be available at the following Redstone Barrel Society locations across Massachusetts this week.
